The Beautiful Thousand Islands

Yay for me, another trip! Thanks to Leo and Milton's GPS, we finally arrived at our lodge in the beautiful 1000 Islands a bit past midnight last Friday. The minute we checked into our rooms, the girls were all dead on their beds and the guys tried forever to get the TV to work so they can play some videogames. Unfortunately they couldn't get it to work before they went to bed, Milton even dreamt about himself trying to fix the TV! You know how much of a gamer he is when he dreams about these things. He even woke up at 7 the next morning to ask the front desk to fix the TV!

Anyways! After breakfast at the lodge, we drove around, went up to the Skydeck to do some sight seeing. It was beautiful up there! Leo even went "around the world" in 10 seconds!

Of course we had our professional photographer on this trip and he's just getting set up...
The above was a photo taken from the Skydeck of our lodge.

And of course I had to grab a free Skydeck postcard to send to my Kai Goh Goh since he sent me two when he went to San Francisco and Las Vegas.

Then we had lunch and went on the cruise to see the Boldt Castle on Heart Island. The Island is indeed kinda in a heart shape.

It wasn't all fun and play, we had some educational moments too!

After the cruise and Boldt Castle, some of us wanted to go walk around while the others wants to go to the Duty Free shop that was close by. Why shop on my vacation when I can do that any time in Montreal?? So I went with a few people to check out the little town of Gananoque. We didn't have a purpose or destination really, just enjoyed walking around, seeing things and just relaxing. I loved sitting on the dock and just did basically nothing... although I didn't look too happy here... but it was great, I promise! I was reading about the Boldt Castle and the history behind it, so I think I was just a li'l confused when LP stole this shot. This was the Town Hall...Guess who's who in this photo below! We met up for dinner, went to DQ, went back to the lodge to play some games and that pretty much concluded our Saturday. Felt like we did so much and saw so many things.

Sunday... of course we can't miss service two weeks in a row! We had a super mini Sunday Service. As you can tell, everyone was half asleep...

Before we headed back to Montreal, we made an hour detour to Smiths Falls to visit Hershey's Chocolate Factory. It smelt sooooooo good in there. We all went crazy! Too bad we couldn't see any chocolates being made since it was Sunday. Of course, they don't work on Sundays, this is not HK, you know. We didn't even leave the shop yet, we were already stuffing down the chocolates.

After visiting the chocolate factory/shop, we decided to go to the nearby town to grab some food and hopefully catch one of the parades that was taking place that weekend. I had the best ribs ever at this Pub in town.
Unfortunately, Gloria was in pain (as you can tell from the photo) and had to go to the hospital. ER was full of people, but no biggie, she can handle it! **HUG**
I think if she wasn't in pain on our way back, some of us would have dropped by Ottawa to stay over for one night and visit some of their museums. No worries, there's still time left in the summer to go to Ottawa. We might even be able to squeeze Toronto in there somewhere. Gotta take advantage of the $10 bus tickets from Mtl to TO! Then that would really be my last trip before I marry off! **sniff, sniff** I really do treasure every minute of these moments with our friends. Who knows where everyone will be 3, 5 or 10 years down the road??

Life with LP Back in Montreal

LP's only been back for a week, we've done so much since he got back that it seems like he's been here for 3 weeks. I surprised him with his favourite BBQ pork, yup I made it! He loved it! I also made him his fav drink (besides Coke) HK style milk tea, yummm. My dad got to taste my Cha Siu too, it was the first time I made him an actual meal. He's so proud of me, yay!

All credit goes to Mr. Byron Lo! Fan Q! Hope everything is well with you and your family in Vancouver, especially your mommy.

We went to fireworks on Wednesday, Canada was pretty crappy... too bad we missed the Hong Kong one the week before, must have been great. Sorry the videos below are a bit dark, listen to it like a radio broadcast haha.

We've pretty much been out every single night. Some how we find excuses to go for drinks at night. I saw Milton and Leo for 12 days in a row now (and counting)... maybe a wee bit too much of them. This was the super sized drink from Magic Idea... literally like a drink in a vase. Guess how much?! What a ripe off, $7.50!

Gloria and I always matches! Either we wear the same colours or the exact opposite! Nope, we do NOT call each other up in the morning to talk about how we're going to match that day...

Monday was great, just walking around downtown and hanging out at Mont Royal. We don't often get to sit around to do nothing, but we did. Actually it was pretty "productive" as we studied the Bible together in the "forest!" Beautiful weather, just perfect!

This would have been a nice photo if only...I am just kidding! This was probably the last thing that was on Milton's mind...

We also tried this Thai restaurant in the Plateau. The food was okay, but too pricey for that little amount of food. We had to go to Chinatown to continue our meal.

I think I've been eating out too much lately, I'm going to puke from all the grease and fatty foods. I hope we cut down on that for the next couple of weeks! I am not complaining or anything, it's such a blessing to be able to hang out without too much worries. Sigh! A year from now, I will definitely miss all these dinners and fun we have.

New York! New York!

YAY! I was in New York this past weekend and it was great. Loads of unfortunate things happened during this trip, but let's not talk about it to ruin the fun. It wasn't what I expected on this New York trip, but nonetheless, I had loads of fun. Firstly, this is for you Jasper! I miss you! No, unfortunately I did not get to talk to "Jasper"! As you can probably tell, he is the Japanese version of you.

Getting lost in NY and trying to get used to the roads...

hmmm... so many things happened that I don't even know where to begin talking about this trip. We started driving from the South Shore at 4 in the morning. That was crazy since I didn't sleep at all before we left. Didn't get to sleep much in the car either, kept waking up every half an hour. So by the time we got to New York, headed to Chinatown to have lunch, I was half dead.

Why did it feel like we didn't do much on Saturday?? I wanted to visit the Wedding Cafe in New York, but unfortunately they weren't open for some reason, it is not very clearly stated on their website that an appointment is needed if we just want to go visit. Super disappointed, oh well, next time! But this is my for my future, is to open up one of these in Canada... Darn, forgot to take a picture of the cafe front.

Saturday pretty much came and went, didn't get a chance to visit any tourist attractions at all. It was at the Japanese restaurant when I saw "Jasper!"

Sunday was much better in terms of doing things a tourist would do in NY. The church I went to in the morning was called Liquid Church. Don't let the name scare you, it wasn't bad! The pastor reminded me of Pastor Dave!

While the girlies went crazy shopping, the other half of the people went to the "ferry". I can't believe I got tricked into it! It was no ferry ride alright. Basically you just pay to get on the SPEEDBOAT to get wet. And if you didn't get wet from the speedboat, they will spray you with water themselves, some people for the "bucket!" We had a little water fight with the other speedboat that passed us by, stopped at the Statue of Liberty for 5 minutes, more water fights and that pretty much concluded the ride. I got sprayed by the guy too, fortunately not much. HAHA! Of course I have to thank Isaac for getting wet for me! Fortunately for me and unfortunately for him he was next to me to block off all the water, so I was only 1/4 wet while he was soaked from head to toes.

After the "FERRY" ride, it was time for BOARD WAY! YAY!

We had a super late dinner at Hard Rock Cafe.

We got back to the hotel at 1am-ish?

There was a line up for the bathroom and of course as tired as we were, we wasted no time, took out the cards and slapped Jack. It was more like slap Johnny! Notice in the video there's a hand that's always 5 seconds late...

Monday... everyone went ga ga goo goo at the Japanese supermarket/food court which was on the way to Woodbury Outlets. Spent a couple of hours there...

After lunch, we split up again into two groups. The girls of course would want to spend as much time as they can at the outlets... well, all the girls except for me... I went with the guys to the Military Academy. Very interesting. Too bad the museum was closed by the time we got back from the 1 hour tour.

After the tour, we went back to Woodbury to meet up with the rest of the girls (plus Johnny) and did more shopping. Everyone left with something, especially Andrew...

I just realized I didn't take any group pics on my camera, lucky we had Andrew on the trip. Eeeekkk, heading back to Montreal means WORK. But of course I had something else to look forward to... LP! YAY! He arrived in Montreal while we were still on the road. Can't wait for the Thousand Islands trip this weekend!!!
