Busy Bee
It's been a while since I last posted. I am such a workaholic! Joelle would be the first to agree with me. Though I work hard, I also play hard! That's probably why I haven't been getting too much sleep lately. I guess I am at a point in life when I realized that there is so much more to work and just play. I start to really treasure the times I have with my friends. Not just laughing ha-ha-ha all night long about silly things, but really have some quality bonding time together. For the past couple of weeks, my Sista and I really made it a point to set aside time to have dinner and chill with people and to catch up on each other's lives. Of course everyone asks about my wedding and how things are going, Gloria heard it a million times and next time she can tell people for me without leaving a word out. Last week was also Gloria's week off from school, so it was the perfect time to hang out. But the past two weeks have been great and "productive".
Sunday, I hung out with my parents' fellowship, yup, those aunties and uncles. You must think I am weird! But they are really awesome, once you hang out with them, you'll realized they are the funniest people ever. I love hanging out with them! You probably think I am getting old huh??
Monday, Gloria and I started with what you can call a mini joint fellowship haha. We were over at my Kai Goh Goh's (God-bro) place and we made sushi. Alfred and Ben (Elisha), Gloria (Bethany), myself (... I hesitate to categorize myself in a fellowship... Bethany or Ephesus...), Isaac (Ephesus) and Mr. & Mrs. Chu (Canaan) all had dinner together.Tuesday was Prayer Meeting, can't skip that! Thursday was dinner at Vinni Gambinni's with our all time favourite Leo Goh. He's so silly!
Friday morning, Alfred and I also went out for a super early 6AM breakfast at Chez Cora before he left for Seattle and LA. I also had a chance to meet Byron's aunt who came to Montreal for a couple of days. We kinda "hiked" up Mont Royal, I don't like walking haha but it was a refreshing walk up to the Chalet. Then at night, we had dinner with Hong and Winnie at Gloria's fav restaurant, Tutti Giorni. Awww! Hong and Winnie are so cute together! Congrats again on their engagement!
Saturday evening, a few of the Ephesus peeps had dinner with Isaac's mom who came to visit from Edmonton. Isaac will kill me for saying this, but I love his mom! She's super nice and easy going.
After dinner, we had a nice stroll at the Old Port just chilling and taking very silly pictures... which I won't post on my blog...
We also had a chance to hang out at Kev and Elena's place on Sunday evening.
How often do you see your friends on Sunday after service and just say hi/bye? Everyone seem to be super busy these days... but it really means a lot when you set aside time for them. It doesn't have to be every week, or even every month. Why not say... every couple of months, make it a point to set aside time to catch up with someone you really care about but haven't had the chance to chat? I guess with Gloria and I, it is a bit different because we really do play hard (also work hard!), so we know quite a lot of people from both the English and Chinese congregations, and people of all ages really. I truly thank God for every single one of my friends.
