Toronto Aug 17-23

Yea... Thousand Islands was suppose to be my last trip this summer... I guess not! Not only did we go to Toronto for the weekend, we stayed for a week. Saturday, Sunday and weeknights were spent with Milton and Gloria's relatives.

This trip wasn't too much about eating and drinking. Amazingly, we didn't go for afternoon tea at all on this trip, only went for dessert twice at night. We actually did other things! Or at least we tried to... the only thing we planned to go but didn't get a chance to was the Chinese Lantern Festival, we heard the displays were pretty nice.

On Monday, we woke up at noon-ish, by the time we finished lunch, we had very little time left. We headed downtown to the Ontario Science Center. There was the Titanic exhibition with artifacts and the IMAX movie, but we were too cheap to pay extra to go see the temporary exhibition. Actually we might have went to that as well if we had more than an hour and 45 minutes there. We got there at 3:15pm and the center closes at 5pm... sucks for us.

Alfred Kai Goh Goh, I took a pic of this for you!

Tuesday, we went to the Canadian National Exhibiton (CNE). "The Canadian National Exhibition (CNE) is an 18-day fair taking place every August concluding on Labour Day. Over its 128 year history, the CNE has grown to be the largest annual fair in Canada and the fifth largest in North America attracting approximately 1.3 million visitors each year." We froze out butts off (at least I did since I'm too skinny). It was pretty cold throughout the week. But we were lucky it only started raining as we walked back to our car.

We spent half of Wednesday at the Royal Ontario Museum. There is an "array of themed galleries throughout the Museum, spanning both world cultures and natural history with six million objects in the ROM’s collections. In addition to numerous permanent galleries, the ROM showcases a variety of changing special exhibitions."
